Hi! I'm Holly 🌺
I'm a twenty-something Brit who's constantly looking for her next adventure and challenge to push me out of my comfort zone.
I was lucky enough to travel with my family around Europe during my childhood, but really found my travel bug when I turned 19. After my first year at University was complete, I took a leap of faith and flew to Massachusetts to work at a summer camp in Cape Cod. Living in a tent for three months and cooking on a fire really brought out the inner adventurer in me and from here I started to plan my next opportunity to move away.
The next summer I moved to Utah, USA to start an exchange year abroad at the University of Utah. I travelled a ton and learn a LOT in this year and became more independent and well-rounded. There were times on my exchange year that I found really tough but I was able to learn from all of the mistakes I made to make my next big trip abroad a much bigger success. Regardless of this, I still managed to ski Utah, spend thanksgiving in San Francisco, have my 21st in Las Vegas and see the big lights of Seattle.
After this whopper of a year abroad, I headed east for a month of backpacking in Thailand and Vietnam. This trip cemented my love for backpacking and the rush of experiencing and overcoming culture shock. On this trip we met so many like-minded travellers and as they regaled us with stories of their adventures, I started to formulate more dreams.

Skip forward another year to 2017 and I was a new graduate with a backpack and a plan. I bought a one way ticket to Sydney, Australia and spend the next year living in Sydney, travelling the East Coast and completing regional work in rural New South Wales. I also managed to explore Singapore and Indonesia with my parents, once again making me fall in love with Asia a little bit more.
After a year in Australia, I spent a month backpacking Fiji and Tonga with two of my best friends from university. This trip was full of twists and turns and I wouldn't change a thing. Tonga was my first real remote destination and I loved learning about their unique culture as well as having the opportunity to do some amazing things such as swim with humpback whales.
I then moved to New Zealand to complete another year working abroad. I spent the majority of my time in Auckland working for a youth travel agency. I was lucky that my job allowed me the opportunity to see the majority of New Zealand and to also let me head back to Fiji for more island time. It is in New Zealand where I realised that travel was more than just a hobby for me and that I wanted to understand and learn the inner working's of the travel industry.
With my year in New Zealand over, I made the choice to return to the UK on health grounds but made sure to make my trip back home a little more interesting. I spent a month and a half exploring Los Angeles, tanning in Mexico, being amazed by Cuba and meeting old friends in the Netherlands.
Back in the UK I had no plans to stop travelling. I worked for a local travel agency in my hometown until the COVID-19 pandemic changed our current travel world. I spent lockdowns at home trying to figure out my next move. Flashforward to August 2021 and I'm happy to say that I am once again travelling! I now live in South Korea working as a native English teacher. I can't wait to share my experiences here with you all.
I hope that my re-telling of my previous trips as well as my current one can offer a few laughs, inspiration and a touch of wanderlust.
