Every day off in Sydney is the chance to explore somewhere new and have an adventure! I've really enjoyed spending my time off finding new beaches, visiting museums and getting to know the city a little more. Sundays are the best days to have off as public transport is only $2.60 all day! This means you can travel over to places that may be a bit further away for cheap. Last Sunday, me and Katherine decided to make the most of the Sunday transport deal and go to Manly for a beach day. This involved a train to circular quay and then taking the 30 minute Manly ferry. The ferry was busy but it had amazing views of the city as we moved out to the edge of the harbour. Manly was packed as it was a pretty warm day but we managed to find a spot on the beach but not before we checked out the weekend market. This was full of artists stalls and jewellery ware. I love a good market and finally found the wave ring I"ve been looking for! We sunned ourselves and swam and jumped in the waves and I met up with my friend Hannah from home. It was great to see her again and meet the friends she made on her own ultimate week. Around 5.30 me and Katherine started to feel the chill so got some pizza and made our way back home. On Tuesday we walked the Bondi to Coogee walk and this time took time to take photos It's a beautiful walk and it was lovely to do it again this time taking our time. We stopped at a couple of beaches to sunbathe and swim and finished the evening with a cocktail jug and food on Coogee bay. As well as making the most of the stunning beaches, I've also been trying to squeeze in some culture as well. We bought the Sydney Museum pass for $24 which gives you access to 12 museums in Sydney. So far we've done one on the pass and the NSW Art Gallery which is free entry. I'm hoping to visit one tomorrow morning though as well as one Monday. On evenings off we usually relax in an apartment, play cards and drink a glass of wine or two. On the occasion that a few people have the day off we try and go out. We've grown tired of CBD nightlight and have tried to expand our horizons by going to bars in Newtown and Oxford Street. There's so much still to explore though so I look forward to visiting a few more bars around our neighbourhood. Sydney has so much to offer, from the beach life, to fun evening activities, to quieter activities as well, I have no excuse to be bored on a day off! We're also trying to plan a few days out of the city very soon, probably a few hours up the coast, to get away from it all and spend some time as a group again With different work schedules its hard to get everyone together all the time!
But before then, I'l look forward to the many more beach days this place as to offer as well as learning a little bit more about this amazing city.
