Packing for a Working Holiday can be pretty daunting. If you're like me, you don't know what you are planning on doing when you get there and want to pack for every eventuality. I have spent the last three days packing and re-packing and weeks before this thinking out what I wanted to take. I don't think I've got it perfect but I hope this list of what I've packed might help others. My brief plan currently is to spend some months in Sydney and then move up the East Coast and later move onto New Zealand. This plan takes place over two years and four seasons. That's a broad range of scenarios to pack for! I'm taking the Mountain Warehouse Traveller 60+20 Litre Backpack. It's a suitcase style backpack with a bottom circular compartment which can also be accessed through the main suitcase style compartment. So far I'm a fan. It's spacious whilst also making me reduce the amount that I bring. My Packing List includes this: Clothes Pants x 12 Bras x 3 (one is a strapless bra) Bralet x1 Socks x 6 T-Shirts x 5 Vest Tops x 5 Crop Tops x2 Denim Shorts x 2 Linen Shorts x2 Skirt x1 Jeans x 1 Leggings x1 Thailand Style Pants x 1 Smart Trousers x 1 Smart Tops x 1 Romper x 1 Dress x 1 Jumper x 2 Hoodie x 1 Plaid Shirt x 1 Cardigan x 1 Sports Bra x 2 Workout Top x 2 Workout Shorts x 1 Workout Leggings x 1 Pajama Top x 2 Pajama Shorts x 2 Bikini x 3 Swimsuit x 2 Coat x 1 Rain Coat x 1 Flip Flops x 1 Sandals x 1 Flat Shoes x 1 Trainers x 1 Sports Shoes x 1 Sunhat x 1 Beanie x 1 Although it may seem like a lot, I wanted to have a few winter items so I would be ready for winter or colder conditions. I also have chosen to bring an outfit which I can be interviewed in and potentially wear if I work in an office or smart clothed environment. Most of my clothes have fitted into four packing cubes with some items, the items I don't expect to be wearing for a few months, laid out flat at the bottom of my bag. In term of toiletries I'm bringing: Toothpaste A Toothbrush Shampoo Conditioner Shower Gel Deodorant Mini Spray Deodorant Mini Dry Shampoo Mini Soap Mini Nail Polish Remover Make Up Remover Looffa Moisturiser Face Moisturiser Outside of my toiletries bag: Suncream Insect Repellant In my first aid kit: Plasters Anti-Septic Cream Anti-Histamine Paracetamol Diarrhoea Tablets Condoms I have quite a few medications which are taking up a lot of my bag. Not ideal but I wanted to go with as much as I could take so I could settle before having to try and get more of my prescription. Apart from clothes and toiletries and medication I'm taking: A Book Diary Pen Notebook Lock x 2 Adapter x 2 Torch Make Up Brush and Comb Sleeping Bag Liner Sarong Sewing Kit Tissues Electronics and a couple of other small items I'll keep you updated with how this fairs for me and if I think it's too much or too little and what I wish I had brought and what I wish I'd left at home.
Can't believe I leave for Sydney in two days! I'm all checked in and feeling for the most part ready to go. Let the next adventure begin!
