February 19th 2016 I’ve been slacking on this blog recently. I could use the excuse of too much work, but really I didn’t know what to write about. Getting back into life over here was slow for the first few weeks. It’s an odd experience to travel halfway across the world to go home and a stranger experience to realise you’re not staying and you have all your belongings, an apartment and life in another country 15 hours away. However, after a few weeks, the normality of being back here in Utah started to set in. I had my 21st birthday which ended up being one of the craziest days of my life! Me and my friend decided to go skiing that day and it was a crazy powder day, I think they had had around 10″ of new powder. Although it was awesome my friend managed to hurt himself on the slopes. This is where our amazing day out stopped and we had to call ski patrol to ski him down whilst I followed behind. When you see the ski patrol tending to someone on the slopes you ski past and have a moment of thought for them hoping their ok. Never did I think I would be the one helping my friend into a stretcher. The team at Snowbird were amazing and so kind and helpful. My friend ended up breaking his leg so that was the end of our ski day and his for the season! I got back to my apartment and readily told the story to my roomates. I then had my first wendy’s and met up with some friends who were 21 to go and experience the bar life of SLC. However, we all got too crazy and stayed at the house where we pre-gamed at for the rest of the night. I also experienced Sundance Film Festival, from a distance. Our friends invited us up to Park City for a party and although I was so close to the action I never went up to experience the Film Festival. The party was awesome though. Still kinda mad I didn’t venture up to the City because my friends met Joe Jonas and I don’t think I’ll ever get over that. Apart from this, my life has been work, internship, skiing and repeat which isn’t too bad! Me and Holly Whitby along with our other friends have planned a trip to Vegas in April, I’m planning on travelling back down to Southern Utah for Spring Break and I’ve booked a spontaneous trip to Thailand and Vietnam for the summer. This year abroad is going so fast but I’m still loving it and don’t want it to end anytime soon!
